Privacy Policy

This privacy policy explains what personal data is processed when you visit the Villa Prenc website (villaprenc.com) or contact us, and what your rights are under the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

2. Short summary

• We do not use analytics, advertising or tracking cookies.
• We do not sell or share your data for marketing.
• Google Maps is loaded only if you agree in the cookie popup. You can change your choice at any time using “Cookie settings” at the bottom of every page.
• If you email us, we use your message only to answer you and to handle your booking.

3. Visiting the website: hosting and server logs

The website is hosted by Netlify, Inc. (San Francisco, USA). When you open the website, the hosting server automatically records technical information that your browser sends: your IP address, date and time of the request, the page requested, browser type and operating system. This is necessary to deliver the website and to keep it secure (for example, to detect attacks).

Legal basis: our legitimate interest in operating a secure and working website (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). Netlify processes this data on our behalf under a data processing agreement (Art. 28 GDPR). The logs are kept by the hosting provider only for a short period and are not used to identify you. Netlify may process data in the USA. Such transfers are protected by appropriate safeguards under the GDPR (the EU–U.S. Data Privacy Framework and/or the EU Standard Contractual Clauses). More information: netlify.com/privacy.

4. Fonts

The fonts used on this website are stored on our own web server. No connection to Google or any other font provider is made when you visit the website.

5. Google Maps (only with your consent)

To show you where the villa is located, the website can display an embedded map from Google Maps, a service of Google Ireland Limited (Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland). The map is loaded only after you click “Accept” in the cookie popup or “Show map”. Until then, no connection to Google is made.

Once the map is loaded, your browser connects to Google's servers. Google receives your IP address and information about your browser, and may set or read cookies, especially if you are logged in to a Google account. We have no influence over this processing.

Legal basis: your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR and the Croatian Electronic Communications Act). You can withdraw your consent at any time using “Cookie settings” at the bottom of every page. Withdrawal does not affect processing that happened before it. Data may be transferred to Google LLC in the USA, which is certified under the EU–U.S. Data Privacy Framework. 6. Contacting us by email

When you email us, we receive the information you send, such as your name, email address, travel dates, number of guests and the content of your message. We use it only to answer your enquiry and, if you book, to arrange your stay.

If you stay at the villa, Croatian law requires us to register guests and keep certain records, for example in the national eVisitor system and for tourist tax and tax purposes.

Legal basis: steps taken at your request before a contract and performing the rental contract (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR). For guest registration and accounting records, the legal basis is compliance with our legal obligations (Art. 6(1)(c) GDPR).

How long: booking data is kept for as long as Croatian tourism and tax regulations require. Enquiries that do not lead to a booking stay in our email account and are not used for anything else. If you would like your enquiry deleted, just write to us and we will delete it.

Our email account is provided by Google (Gmail). Your emails are therefore stored on Google's servers and may be transferred to Google LLC in the USA, which is certified under the EU–U.S. Data Privacy Framework. More information: Google Privacy Policy.

7. Data stored in your browser

The website itself does not set cookies. It saves two small pieces of information in your browser's local storage:

• your cookie choice (accepted or rejected, with the date), so we don't ask you again on every visit;
• your language (EN/HR), if you choose one.

This information stays on your device, is never sent to us or anyone else, and you can delete it at any time in your browser settings. It is strictly necessary for functions you requested and therefore does not require consent.

8. Links to social networks

The website contains simple links to our Instagram and TikTok profiles and to Google Maps. These are normal links, not embedded plugins: no data is sent to these platforms until you click a link. After you click, the privacy policy of that platform applies.

9. Your rights

Under the GDPR you have the right to:

• get information about and a copy of your personal data (Art. 15),
• have incorrect data corrected (Art. 16),
• have your data deleted (Art. 17),
• restrict the processing of your data (Art. 18),
• receive your data in a portable format (Art. 20),
• object to processing based on our legitimate interest (Art. 21).

10. No automated decisions

We do not use automated decision-making or profiling.

We may update this policy when the website or the law changes. The current version is always published on this page.
